Unfortunately, a strike 1953 halted their production for 100 days due to major labor disputes. However, this eventually resulted in a large increase in mutual trust between the company and its employees and vastly improved management relations.
The next major breakthrough for Nissan was receiving a large investment of capital that allowed the company to build two new state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in the 1960s and 1970s. They made further innovations by creating and distributing advanced designs during this era.
In addition to breakthroughs in design and employee relations, Nissan made great strides in reducing pollutants and increasing the level of fuel-efficiency in their vehicles, causing them to be in high demand among Americans after the oil crisis of the ‘70s. However, Nissan did not stop innovating in the ‘70s.
